Christmas Tales
(Provisional Title)
Port and partridge.
Mistletoe and misery. Christmas provides us with much literary succour. We would welcome stories suffused with the despair
and joy of this special time of year; from apparitions to elation, stockings, presents and decorating the tree. Customs, both
ancient and modern. Rituals, bizarre and banal. Christmas is a family time, a fun time, but perhaps most of all Christmas
is a dark time. What’s that skulking in the garden, at the edges of the light from the kitchen: a cold impish thing
waiting to get in?
